ASEAN-Japan Centre produced a series of videos in Japanese, to introduce noodles of the ten ASEAN Member States. Noodle dishes introduced from each ASEAN Member States are as below:

Brunei Darussalam – Soto mee kawin
“Kawin” in Malay means “marriage,” and two kinds of noodles are used to cook this noodle.

Cambodia – Nom banh chok
A typical noodle dish of Cambodia.

Indonesia – Mee ayam
 A national food of the Indonesians.

Lao PDR – Khao piak sen
People like to eat “khao piak sen” for breakfast in Laos.

Malaysia –  Curry mee
It symbolizes Malaysia’s multi-culture.

Myanmar – Mohinga
Gravy soup defines “mohinga” of Myanmar.

Philippines – Pancit luglug
Pancit luglug is also eaten as snack in the Philippines.

Singapore – Singapore laksa
“Singapore laksa” is the iconic noodle of Singapore.

Thailand – Kway teow nam tok
Thai food is popular in Japan, but not many people have tasted “kway teow nam tok”.

Viet Nam – Mi quang
“Mi quang” is noodle from the central Viet Nam.
