The ASEAN-Japan Centre organized a “Brunei Tourism Seminar and Business Meeting” on June 25, 2019 jointly with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam. The objective of the event was to provide updated information on Brunei tourism, a destination which is gaining momentum in Japan since the launching of the direct flight service between Narita and Bandar Seri Begawan by Royal Brunei Airlines. It was attended by 51 persons from the Japanese travel industry.
Ms. Adila Rahman, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, introduced possible tour courses that highlight Brunei’s uniqueness and its tourism resources such as nature, wildlife, diving and Islamic culture. Ms. Mari Onda, Royal Brunei Airlines’ Country Manager of Japan, delivered information on inflight services and aircraft facilities, as well as load factor of the direct flight.
After the seminar, seven travel companies/hotels, which took part in the event from Brunei Darussalam, had individual business meetings with Japanese travel companies.
