Report: “Showcasing Successful Business Models of Young Entrepreneurs in ASEAN and Japan- Reconnecting People for Recovery-“

ASEAN-Japan Centre, held an online exchange event for the 10 ASEAN countries and Japan entitled “Showcasing Successful Business Models of Young Entrepreneurs in ASEAN and Japan- Reconnecting People for Recovery-“ with more than 180 participants from ASEAN countries and Japan.

In this event, 16 young entrepreneurs shared business models that connect people socially, economically, culturally, and geographically with the aim of recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Three panel members (Prof. Takeru Oe, Ms. Leila Djawas, and Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi) provided feedback for further development of each business model from their own professional perspectives in management and entrepreneurship. Six breakout sessions were held in the second half of the event, where participants with similar interests discussed themes and issues such as digitization, fundraising, marketing, business in CLMV countries, product/service development, and logistics. Active exchange and networking took place.

All respondents to the post-event questionnaire evaluated this event positively with ‘very good’ or ‘Good’, and many of them wrote that they were inspired by everyone’s business model and their respective stories.
