Report: Conducted the 3rd ASEAN-Hiroshima Eco School in the Philippines (Education Programme on Marine Plastic Waste)

The ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) (co-organized by ASEAN Secretariate (tbc) and Hiroshima ASEAN Association and supported by Hiroshima Prefectural Board of Education and Hiroshima City Board of Education) conducted the 3rd ASEAN-Hiroshima ECO School on December 2, 2021 at Bishop Sofio Balce Memorial School and St. Francis of Assisi Diocesan School in the Philippines.

38 elementary school students (aged between 9-10 and 13 years old) participated in the online lecture, based on the Pilot Project on the Pilot Project on “ASEAN-Hiroshima ECO School.”

In this project, “Future Leaders” who presented “Future Leaders’ Declaration on ASEAN-Japan Cooperation for International Marine Plastic Waste” conduct the lectures. For Bishop Sofio Balce Memorial School and St. Francis of Assisi Diocesan School, Ms. Valerie CORALES (from the Philippines, PhD student at Graduate School of Bioresource and Bioenvironmental Sciences at Kyushu University) presented her lecture in English.
