Webinar on Resilient Global Value Chains for ASEAN and its Relationship with Partner Countries

As the spread of COVID-19 continues across the world, there has been a series of calls for strengthening and rebuilding the value chain between Japan and ASEAN. In response to this situation, the ASEAN-Japan Center published a report, “Resilient Global Value Chains (GVCs) for ASEAN and its Relationship with Partner Countries (Resilient Global Value Chains (GVC) and Partner Countries in ASEAN” in October 2020.

In this report, the Center examines two types of risks: risks affecting the upstream part of GVCs (supplier market concentration) and those that affect the downstream part of GVCs (buyer market concentration), then calculated the degree of risk in the value chain to external shocks and which industries are more vulnerable to risk.

In this context, the Center will organize a webinar on ‘Resilient Global Value Chains for ASEAN and its Relationship with Partner Countries’ by inviting experts from academia and businesspersons in ASEAN Member States and Japan.
